Hello,

What would cause multiple instances of setup.exe to be launched when attempting to install a program.

For example; I select Start > Run > then type in d:\setup.exe.

When the program attempts to install, another instance of setup.exe runs... then another ...and so on until it locks the PC up. If you try to end task on one, another one starts up...

The same disk that the program is on insalls no problems on other pc's.

Any suggestions? Could this be a result of a virus on this particular PC?

Thanks in advance.

• Maybe, just maybe, your program on the D drive has Autostart, already. Either wait until it starts, or press-hold the Shift key when inserting the CD (I am assuming a CD) until all CD-reading activity ceases.

• Try an alternative method of running "setup.exe" -- navigate to your D drive, and run it from there, using your mouse.

The two suggestions above will at least help eliminate some possible issues.
