Multimedia Audio Controller

I cant listen to music because when I try to add hardware it says its says Multimedia Audio Controller not found. I have no CD's to install it with so what do I do?

a few suggestions-

1) download drivers from the web. if you don't know what soundcard you have take the lid off and have a look. if the soundcard is onboard then check the motherboard manufacturer's website.

2) if the computer is new and you didn't get drivers go back to the store. or if you got the pc from a friend then ask him/her.
