Is it OK to run 2 pop up blockers simultaneously in XP Home? I've been using PopUpCop for a few years now, and thought it was good, but just put Earthlink's Pop-Up Blocker on. It seems to do a much better job on the pop unders. I don't want to get XP angry, so thought I'd ask. Thanks.

Are these the pop-up's that come up with "Messenger Service" (I think) as the title? Or are these the pop-up's that come up in your Internet browser?

Messenger was the first thing I got rid of. I'm just talking about the regular old popups/unders off various sites.

I think you could run them both simultaneously; it'd be like two Virus scanners (even though I haven't tried that). I think they'll be okay. If they start conflicting then you'll only be able to run one.

If you use Mozilla or Opera you don't have to use pop-up blockers.

Yeah, another browser is always an option, but so many sites are made for IE (don't display correctly in other browsers) that I'll stick with it despite it's many faults and shortcomings.

Any site made for IE will display properly with Crazy Browser. Crazy Browser has a built-in pop-up stopper and tabbed windows.

John,
Opera has a feature that will allow you to have it identify itself as other browsers. So if you go to a site that wasn't written correctly, you can hit F12 on the keyboard, then select "identify as MSIE 6.0". In fact you can just leave it that way.

When I come across sites like that I always fire off an email to webmaster telling them they've put proprietary code (frontpage code) on the web. Sometimes it works and I feel I've made the world a better place.

Some people don't even realize they did it...they think using tools like Frontpage make correct html.
