OS: windows XP pro SP 2
CPU/Ram: Athlon64 3000+, 1 GB ram

this is a question for those ATI graphic card users, i was just wondering if it's normal to have two CLI.exe and two ati2exx.exe running in the background at the same time? because that's what i see in task manager, and i've had frequent crashes with Half Life 2 and looking for things to blame for those crashes

I think it is normal! What is your graphic card model?

My radedo x700 Pro(PCIe) has two CLI.exe and two ati2exx.exes. My 9600 Pro (AGP) has two ati2exx.exe.

mine's an X850 XT PCIe
from the sound of it you'd think it can atleast run that damned HalfLife2 decently

Here is a few possiblities:

bad ram, bad driver, overheating cpu or graphic card, chipset driver, crappy mainboard...etc (the list is long)

wait,Nan, possibilities for which problem? 2 CLI.exe? or Half life 2?
if you know what causes HL2 crashes then i need your help
i tried swapping ramsticks, i have 2 512, tried playing with each one alone, crash
i have a CPU temp. monitoring tool, and it says CPU at a 45C during gameplay
graphic card is fine because i'm playing Doom 3 highest setting no problem
mainboard, A8V-E can't be crappy
and chipset driver, what do you mean? i tried updating it

please help computer...
