MSN region setting

When I used MSN before I had the regional weather and information at the click of a button. Then the computer prompted me to download the update for WindowXP which I did. Now the MSN has the region info for LA not my region. I have checked the region settings and they are the same as before.
So what could have happened and how do I get MSN to display my region info again.
