after the computer is login and everything is done, usually MSN would start up. I checked the possesses and it is running but the program is not being displayed in the task bar after 2 hours on the computer it finally starts up. I have searched the web for fixes but they are not working.

MSN Messenger has a mode where it runs in the background, but yet it doesn't show in the system tray.
Try ending MSN Messenger with Task Manager, and then launching it again from Start Menu. If it loads that time, in MSN Messenger go to Tools>Options>Preferences and uncheck Allow Windows Messenger to run in the background.

Are you using Windows Live Messenger or MSN Messenger? The 2 really aren't totally the same thing, even though they are both produced by MSN. The procedure listed above is for MSN Messenger, not Windows Live Messenger.

A shot in the dark, but try this: In Windows Live Messenger, go to Tools>Options, click General on the left, uncheck Automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log on to Windows, click Apply, check the same checkbox again and then click Apply again. Perhaps it will reset something.
