Hi, does anyone know how do disable the password for the auto log in? By mistake, I put a check in the box to save password and now it logs me on automatically and I don't want that. Thanks in advance.

Go into the preferences and uncheck the Start Up With Windows box.

Bob I had the same problem. Unchecking the box just wouldn't work at all, It just logged right on in and "WHAM" there was MSN and my friends list" NOT good". I had to completely uninstall it. You may can do that and re install it.

Had the same problem... to fix it, go into "User Accounts" from the control panel. Select your account and then "Manage my network passwords". Delete the Passport.Net one. The next time you start Messenger, it should prompt for your username and password again.

Morning,
If you want to stop Messenger in it's tracks from loggin on by itself, Deny it Operating or Server Rights with your firewall. I just denied it all access using my Zonealarm. The Messenger program is still in the computer and if you want to use it, 1-2 clicks in firewall and your in business.
Just my 2 cents worth,
XDon
