msn messenger very wierd problem

OS: windows XP
CPU/Ram: 2.4 GHZ

basically any MSN messenger i try to install other then the inbuilt windows messenger that i got with Xp give me this problem...
whenever i click on a contact the message window appears BEHIND the main messenger window ,this in particular is very irritating because im used to the window popping up over the main interface of MSN messenger ...
any solutions to this problem?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only version of MSN Messenger you should be trying to install is the XP Update from:

www.msn.co.uk/messenger

If you are trying to install another version, which one?

What the problem is, I think, is that you have MSN set on 'Always on top'.

If this is the case, click on the 'Tools' tab on the 'main messenger window' and 'uncheck' the 'Always on top' option.
