Comment:

starting this morning, all the computers on my home network have been having a strange problem with msn messenger, one which i have never seen before.

whenever someone sends a message to a user on my network, theres a chance that instead of the message displaying, messenger sort of drops the connection. it still appears as signed in for a while, but to them, im signed out, and all messenges i send are lost. this is solved by signing back in again, but its getting very irritating.

ive already tried restarting my computer(s) cable modem and router, but it didnt help. my next step is to reset to router's memory settings, but id rather not have to do that.

does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem is, and how to solve it?

thanks,
Dave

I don't know as to whether it will help but if I was you I would change the password for each account , Also you should try using your messenger account on a totally different computer ( like a trusted friend ) just to see if you have been hijack

maybee the msn messenger server is to blame or maybee it was a program that you installed or a virus thats lacthed onto your system. I seriously dont know as i have windows 98 se. When i installed Norton Utilities (brother did) it stuffed up my msn messenger and it come up with a box saying password is incorrect (even though it wasnt) Check it another day and it might be working properly

If you have anything dos related email me and i'll do something bout it

Hey ok, well there are several reasons what can cause the problem:

</tr>
<tr>
<td>

<td>
Reinstall the Msn Messenger,
Download Messenger Beta.

roadrunner: that sounds possible, although im not sure that 3 seperate accounts could be hijacked in that period of time unless one of my computers has a virus or something on it.

killer: ill try that, but how would 4 different computers all get their msn screwed up at within a couple hours?
