Name: nick
his messenger won't work. he can open it but can't click to sign on and type his e-mail there and it won't work going to file sign in as what should i tell him??? download it again??? but he's using windows xp and it's only doing this on his profile on the computer it works fine for his sis.

is he trying his email and the password as well or just typing in his email address? is he typing them correctly, ie bob@hotmail.com or whatever his FULL email address is? he doesnt have caps lock on or anything like that? has he tried to log into the appropriate website (hotmail/etc) to make sure his login/password are correct?

Try the following:
Using Internet Explorer go to: www.passport.com
Click on the heading: Member Services
Under the 'Iwant to change something' header, click on: 'Edit my .NET passport profile
When the .NET passport sign-in screen appears, sign in using MSN email address and the corresponding password
Enter all the data anew, even if it is correct, clear the data and re-enter it. Do not leave any fields blank. Press the Update button when done.
It may take a few hours for the change/update to take effect. Might want to do this before shutting down the PC for the night.

ok, then try what FZWG suggested :)
does he have a hotmail account, or is he signing in with an msn account or what?

he has a hotmail account but i'm not sure what exactly is going on because he just tells me stuff at school but he can't bring up the box to type it in is what i'ms saying so it wouldn't really matter would it

to uninstall windows messenger:
start
settings
control panel
add or remove programs
add/remove windows components
untick windows messenger
next
wait for that to work ...
to install windows messenger:
from the add/remove components screen, tick windows messenger, click next, and install it againi hope that helps! if not, please describe the problem as exactly as possible! thanks :)
