msn messenger in winxp

i installed WINXP and the msnmessenger is built in with it,,i activate it and it worked but the problem is when i need to have a voice conversation with any one from my list it says that the target user must have a newer version of msn and he update it and the same message appear .so please how to solve that ,is it that only users with winxp who i can contact them by voice..? thanks for the help..

I'm having the same problem With the trial version I removed the latest Messenger than install 3.6 but unable to find a link with 3.6 can only find the latest version. Does anybody know a link to MSN Messenger 3.6

MSN hid the link to Messenger 3.6 pretty well.When you go to the Messenger homepage,click on downloads on the LEFT-hand side.When it comes up you will see on the left-hand side"Messenger for Pocket PC".Click on it(I'm not joking)and NOW you will see on the left-hand side"Messenger for Windows",that's 3.6 folks.
