First, I'm not MS basher but MS is being very sneaky with this one. IF you choose to update MSN IM to MSN Messenger 5.0 you are downloading and installing a totaly new program. You will quickly find out you have MSN Messenger 5.0 and MSN IM on your computer. I myself just uninstalled MSN Messenger 5.0 because there is really nothing "new" to it and if you try to exit the program it won't let you unless you close all your IE windows, Outlook/Outlook Express, etc.

It makes no sense at all to have 2 different versions of the program on my computer so one had to go. Here is the link for the full low down on it.

How are MSN Messenger and Windows® Messenger different?

Once again, if you choose to update you are not updating MSN IM you are downloading MSN Messenger 5.0 and MSN IM will still be there. Makes no sense but they did it anyways.
