Ever since updating to MSN Messenger 7.0 from 6.0, I've noticed that whenever I double-click on a contact's name that would normally bring up the chat window under 6.0, no longer works.
Granted, I could still right click on the contact's name and bring up the menu (that has the "Send an Instant Message" option in bold face), choose that and bring up the chat window, but that gets a bit annoying.
Asking the Messenger support didn't get me any where.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Well, I have 2 in place, one is a 3rd party one called Popup Killer, the other is the one that comes with XP SP2. I don't think they would cause any problems, and turning them off and trying again doesn't seem to help either.
I've already tried removing and reinstalling messenger with no luck. Going back to Version 6 doesn't help either because the program will no longer operate unless you upgrade to 7.0.
Asking a friend who uses 7.0 doesn't seem to help either as he doesn't seem to have this problem. So I guess it's something on my computer that is preventing it from working properly.
Any other suggestions?

Try version 6.1 of MSN messenger available at the URL below.

Didn't help, as once the program attempts to connect, it won't log on unless it is upgraded to the 7.0 version.
MSN will likely to replace all versions with the 7.0 eventually, so it looks like it's only a matter of time before 6.0 will no longer work any way.
Mine just happens to be a case where that aspect doesn't seem to want to function correctly.
