My Home page has been hijacled by msn.com, when i change the home page in tools/...., it is not remebered next time i log in and reverts to msn.com, which is very annoying, looking at the threads this seems to have been a problem 3 or so years ago and noone seemed to have a definitive way of clearing the problem. Does anyone now know how to solve this problem

Describe how you are changing and saving the home page. Keep in mind that when upgading IE it MAY revert to the default which is MSN.

Get the free version of Winpatrol. It catches anything that tries to change almost anything.

Go to Start, Run, type regedit and click on the OK Tab. The Registry Editor will open, click the + to the left of HKEY_CURRENT_USER, click the + to the left of Software, click the + to the left of Microsoft, click the + to the left of Internet Explorer Click on the Main folder and look in the Right Panel for the String with the Name Start Page, Right click on the Start Page String Icon and chose Modify. In the Value Data Box type in the Home Page you want to Keep (Example http://www.computing.net), as your permanent one and click on the OK Tab and close the Registry Editor and Reboot your computer and your Home Page should be back to your own.
