Well I thought msn as an isp wouldn't be so bad, I mean c'mon they got my desktop why not my connection too? Well this is why not, msn explorer is crap to the point of no freakin' return. The following are the obvious bugs I have come across. 1. Does not tell you that it highjacks IM, I'm surprised they were upfront about emails though.
2. This more of an annoyance, I don't like seeing the Msn homepage pop up everytime I logon.
3.If for some reason I'm disconnected from the network but the line is still in use msn crap explorer fails to give up it's grip on my modem. Ending it's process is the only way to make it pop up again. This however does not fix the "modem in use" problem. So everytime msn crap explorer can't disconnect [I've actually waited for about an hour to see if it would realize it wasn't connected any more] and freezes on me I have to reboot in order to get things going again. Very rare the occasion where it actually works. I'm fed up trying to deal with it, and msn's tech support is useless. Seeing as how I paid for this whole month and would not want to cancel till the end of this month's cycle I need to find an alternative way of login on NO MORE MSN EXPLORER!
Well there are far more problems I've had with this useless little app but I'm too tired to go on typing so... If any1 can help me find a way to logon with msn explorer it would be much appreciated.I remember reading something about ppp.log and how it holds the username and password dun uses to logon. I've noticed that no matter how many users u have there is only 1 account and 1 password. They get changed from user@msn.com to 242143@msn.com. I've noted this from when ever I'm reconnecting with ie, the little dialog shows up and the user name is nothing i ever agreed to. PLEASE HELP ME I'M DESPERATE.
uninstall Msn messenger , or go to your start>>program files.>> Messnger folder and rename it as Messengerold .this should stop MSN launching it self.
i USED to work for msn and their ONLY concern is getting people off the phone. They didn't like the fact that I, and most of my coworkers, WANTED to help these people. All they talked about was our call time and to get everyone off the phone. That's why they tell you to make another manual connection, or change your password because then you have to restart your computer or wait for password to take effect all of which gets you off the phone. It's been awhile since I worked there but I do remember that uninstalling and reinstalling the stupid program worked SOME of the time. The reason they have so many versions of msn is because each one is a fix for the previous bugs and then, of course, is loaded with new problems so they'll never get it right. One thing you can do when you call the "tech support" is to ask to speak to a supervisor if you're not being helped.
MSN is hell uninstall the dam thing and then reinstall and it comes up in same name. Some very rude person there once told me that you cant have it on 2 desktops yet it came with xp . I fixed it by reinstalling it through a complete format Of my PC.Go to control panel add and remove programs add and remove M$ components and remove it and call a local ISP and be done with MSN they suck
thanks for the advice, what's 1 month anyway...*sighs*
I have learned not to rely on micro**** anymore than I have to.And their "recommended" upgrades are a joke!!!Sometimes these little"fixes" end up causing more trouble than they are worth. And I will agree 100% with that person that posted and formerly worked for micro****.That company does not give a damn about the consumer! The msn system seems to run as well and efficiently as the windows programs! It all sucks!!!
