My dad has just got a new PC and is running Windows XP. It is his first PC and is in his late 50's. He has just phoned me up with a major problem....can anyone help ?

He was in Outlook Express and an error message saying "msimn.exe.application error 0x77f52004 Ref: Memory ox007f4740 not able to write memory"

Now he is unable to send emails or even connect to the internet. A box appears saying something like "Unable to connect to internet check connection"

Please help as he is pulling what is left of his hair our and becoming very frustrated.

Thanks.

if all else fails format it, but make SURE that he has his recovery cd. You probably shouldnt follow my advice, but it is probably the quickest way to solve the problem. wait untill someone smarter than me gives you advice before doing this though. God Bless you.

Hi Danny

I had the very same problem.

I overcame it by formatting and doing a clean instal. Take all necessary precautions -- backup etc -- before formatting

Best of luck

msimn.exe is part of outlook express. Try re-installing the program or bringing down a new version from MS. I would NOT reformat to resolve this.

I AGREE with bd. Don't format. That is the lazy way. Re-install Outlook Express. If you still have trouble with re-installing Outlook Express, un-install it and the re-install again. Don't forget to re-boot before the re-install.

Welcome to hell.

I have the same problem, and it has corrupted my
inbox, all my new messages disappear.

You can't uninstall / reinstall just Outlook Express the DAMN OS won't let you.

Do not manually unistall it, you can't recover it. Trust me, I just tried it. Time to get out the format command.

Faulting application msimn.exe, version 6.0.2600.0, faulting module msoe.dll, version 6.0.2600.0, fault address 0x000ea1fc.
