Comment:

When trying to launch Internet Explorer my systems sometimes slows right down until i end the msiexec.exe process (which launches itself for some strange reason).I beleve it is an installer programme.Another problem is the appearance of a very annoying popup (pc performance wizard)which i have tried to get rid of by deleting cookies, but it still comes back Any help for these 2 issues would be most appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you've got a program that is connected to the use of IE that didn't get installed properly and is screwing things up. I'd go through the Add/Remove Programs applet and see what you can uninstall that doesn't look like it belongs....

And if it's spyware you'll probably have to go through the registry to get rid of the junk....

Thanks but it's there are no programms in the add/remove applet that shouldn't be there.
=i'll have a go with regedit and see but i've noticed previously that deleting registry entries tend to slow my system down. furthermore, i don't know which registry key to look for. Thanks
