Msiexec.exe is from windows installer... i seem to have one ALWAYS running, stopping me from installing anything new. in order to install stuff i have to find msiexec.exe via my computer, stop it in task manager, and quickly delete it from my computer before it starts up again. everytime i reboot it seems to come back... its getting annoying. A while back it was proposed to reinstall the windows installer, but with msiexec.exe running, i cant install anything, and if i kill it, and try to reinstall, it installs fine, and on the next reboot, it happens again. any questions ill answer If at first you dont suceed in opening a computer, get a hammer and a chisel like i do...

Msiexec.exe is a legitimate component of XP. No one can really help you unless you give us more info such as error codes similar to what google found in the link below. http://www.google.com/search?source... i_XpUser

... apparently a rather belated followup - progress tends to be more rapid if you continue in the original post (and in a timely manner) I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.
