Hello all. I am encountering the "msi.chm" error when trying to install the software that came with my phone. The software is Japanese (so is the phone) but the OS I am using is English (XP SP2). I have read on another site about a user having the same issue when he was trying to install a Korean game onto his English OS.
You can find a link to that forum, plus screen capts. of the EXACT problem I am encountering. (I too and getting the ?? even though I have the Japanese Language support installed)
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topict2410.htmlI have read the options available in an old post on this site (http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/121301.html). I have tried the short, initial one, which didn't work. I am a bit wary about the last one as I am in Japan and don't have my system fix disks etc here, except for the XP CD, so I don't really want to go crashing this :)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I can read Japanese too if that is any help.
Kind Regards,
Scott

Since files with chm extension are Microsoft Compiled HTML file, I think you will need to use Web browser such as IE and Firefox to open it. I don't think msi.chm by itself is an installer.

Also, someone mentioned in this thread that you can associate chm files with hh.exe. I don't know if it actually works.

I'm sorry, I didn't make my point clear hehe. The installer is an .exe file, but the error I am getting is to do with the .chm file
Sorry for the miss understanding.
