OS: XP 5.1 w SP2
CPU/Ram: 1GB
Product: Dell dimension 9100
Comment:

PC got error and started a DSKCHK, where a file and an index was deleted.
After retart two messages keeps comming up:
1.
in a 'setup' window: "This MSI must be launched through setup"

When I click on OK, the window just pops up again and again.

2.
in a ccCommon window: "Please wait while Windows configures ccCommon"

This window closes, when I click OK to in the window about MSI, but pops the up again.

What does all that mean?

What should I do to get back to a normal situation?

they're probably programs trying to run at startup. Click Start and then Run and type msconfig and then hit OK. In the new window go to the Startup tab, you'll see a list of items with checked boxes beside them. Uncheck all of them and then hit OK and restart the computer and see if it happens again... if it doesn't, go back to the startup tab in msconfig and just keep enabling one at a time and then restarting until you find which ones are causing the messgaes at startup.

ccCommon is associated with Symantec Norton products. Do you have any running on your PC?

Yes I have installed Symantec Norton 360 on the PC.

Is that the program, which is likely to cause the problem?

OK next question - have you removed any Norton products before you installed Norton 360? If that is so reinstall your old Norton/Symantec product and then do an uninstall using ADD AND REMOVE PROGRAMS. This should stop the pop up messages.
