Hi I am trying to install an MSI file, each time I double click on the file ,windows installer launches and then stops with the error: "the windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personel for assistance." I have installed WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86 as instructed to do so on the site that I got the MSI file from, can anyone shed any light on this frustrating problem. any help would be appreciated thanx in advance Auldy

I did a search and their are to many to mention. Search for msi http://support.microsoft.com/search... Search for Windows Installer Error http://support.microsoft.com/search... Just start typing for msi or windows installer and a list will come up.
