I'm trying to just start my computer for the first time with no OS of course just going into the bios on my K7N2-Delta-ILSR board, it goes to do a boot process and says No Array defined then continues and Says PXE-E61 Media Test FAilure, check cable. I've read what about setting the bios to not boot from lan, but thats not tthe case.I'm running a xp 3000+,SATA 80 gig HD and 512 RAM.WHat should I do?

Actually, that is the case. PXE is for remote booting from a network.

Disable that and also look for the SCSI option and disable that unless you have a scsi drive installed.

All these options are available in the bios which you'll have to get into and change.

I disabled the SCSI,but it still says no array defined I take it that the array is my Hard drive and or something to do with the way You would set up a RAID. Do i need to disable a RAID option somewhere? Should I see my HD in the bios where it says IDE? I see my DVD(master) and cd drive(slave). I put in my windows xp cd and when it gets to the step starting windows and it says:

A problem has been decected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Page Fault in nonpaged area
Check to make sure hardware and software are installed properly

Sounds like your HD itself is not being recognized.

Check the cable to make sure its seated correctly and the red stripe (or blue) is on the Number 1 pin.

If all is well, make usre that in your bios, the first Primary Master is set to auto.

When you boot, you'll see the memory screen and then after that a series of boxes (white on a black background) will appear.

On the left hand side, see if your cd-roms and you're hard drive are listed.

This can scroll by quickly, so be ready for it.

If your hard drive appears on the list to the left, you should be good to go.

My boot proccess stops at a spot where it lists the IDE's with a white border around it ,and it won't show my HD only the cd drives. I got the xp loading/install process working properly by installing the SATA controller drivers hitting f6 when the setup asks you to,I'm so close now, it got to the partition and install of xp,but where it should tell me the space of my HD and that to select it to put xp on, it shows 0 MB etc.. none can be selected, because it does'nt see the drive. I checked the connections of the power and SATA and still no luck. I've read a couple of times that SCSI in some bios can refer to booting to a SATA is that true?
I found these 2 links so far http://seagate.com/support/kb/disc/howto/sata_install_tshoot.html

http://seagate.com/support/kb/disc/faq/sata_detect.html

I'll keep on trying some things. I might use an ATA HD that I have and see if it is recognized.
