Here is one that I haven't seen yet. Every time I start Outlook 2000 or IE 6.0 in XP they immediately crash and ask to send the gratuitous error report prior to shutting the apps down. I am running XP on a Soyo K7V board with an Athlon 1.4, 768 Megs Ram, 60 GB HDD (IBM) Deskstar, Yada, Yada... I get this error code in the, 'please let MS pry into your life more', dialog box "AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 9.0.0.2416 ModName: mshtml.dll" It almost looks like a buffer issue. This box is a stand alone with no network connection and only access the world is through a P.O.S. dial-up connection. I am at my wits end and am about to turn the C: drive into a well mowed lawn and start reinstalling every thing. Please help!!!!!!!!

No I am getting fits trying to uninstall IE 6.0 and since I can't get IE 6.0 to run I can't go to MS's site and download it again. I am currenly getting around on Opera, which I like better anyway, but I do need Outlook for work. I will try dropping Outlook and see if it will overwrite the error on reinstallation.

You dont need to update from their site. IE6 is downloadable from other places as one big file. Personally if i thought my system had too many problems id just do a fresh install.....best bet.

The mshtml.dll file refers to the image rendering in your browser or an alike program such as email. The most important thing is to have the correct xp drivers for your videoadapter and even your monitor.
You will get a million hits on mshtml.dll errors for ME and Win 98 but I haven't heard of too many with XP. I had the problem with ME and the only way I could lick it for good was to use netscapeas my browser.
Good luck

Muchas Gracias for the attention to this issue.... However, just before I Killed my C: drive and started anew, I realized I made a "System State" backup in XP on December 17th.... I back up the registry and some sys files then and I reverted to that file set and all is well again....
Thanx much to all,
Bobby

I had the exact same problem, but I changed my videocard from savage4 intil matrox 400, and I am a lot less troubled now.
Try with a card where you are sure it is compatible with XP.Good Luck
(and try Linux)
