I have AIM (AOL instant message) which comes on at startup. I have gone into 'run' and unticked it, plus opted for a selective startup. Win xp hpwever keeps putting it back to normal startup and AIM still comes on first when I boot up.

you may have to go into the AIM options and uncheck it on start up. I don't use AIM any more, but I feintly remember that setting.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Hi brucerac, XpUser4Real, hello everyone,
I don't use AIM but did find this;
"To disable AIM from the startup, right-click its icon in the System Tray, click Preferences, select the Sign On/Off category, deselect the Start AIM When Windows Starts option, and click OK".
