Well currently i reinstalled/repartitioned my hardrive. Ever since then things have been shakey and different. I get a few error messages pertaining an error in Memory usage (i don't remember what i said), and after i click "ok" my computer jumps like, Into 16 bit mode for a few seconds, then refreshes and goes to normal.
Nothing to serious though. Just annoying. What bothers me more is, when i ran msconfig.exe to stop some startup files from running, because i don't like 15+ files running when i first logon to windows.
I did it, but after that, when i restarted, it was like all my drivers where uninstalled.. i tried to run a .mp3 and it said i didn't have the right hardware, or driver software wasn't installed correctly.. I couldn't even get on the internet.
Well after a few hours of confusion/fustration/yelling at my computer cause it wouldn't work, i backtracked to when i messed with msconfig and saw that in the General tab, Selective Startup was chosen.
So i chose 'Normal Startup (load all device drivers and services)'
I restarted. Well, all my drivers were working, but all those files that run at startup were selected again. So i went to msconfig and 'deselected' them from the "Startup" tab, but noticed right after i did this it jumped into "Selective Startup" again, which won't load any of my drivers.
Its like it won't remember my settings.

When you uncheck any items on the Startup tab, then it becomes Selective Startup. You do not want to
uncheck all the items in the Startup tab. Some you do need.

To find out what each Startup(or Process) item
does or means, and any recommendation as to if you should close the process:
Task List Programs
Also look here if you want:
The Process Library
