Msconfig changing services

In the msconfig utility, what can I change or uncheck in the SERVICES tab and will this help speed up the system

Just to say, you should get more RAM.
XP uses all of, at least, 128 to run properly,
and works better.
It slows things down if you have programs
starting and running in the background during Startup.
Also when you open programs, things are slower
if they have to take RAM away from XP.
You should have enough RAM (above 128) for each program you run at the same time.

here is a page that tells you what services are needed. look on the left hand side. and be careful what you uncheck in msconfig, it is better to disable programs from the start menu.
