msconfig and internet connection

Specs: windows xp home, 512
Symantec was helping with norton install,they took over the computer and changed msconfig, now i can not get into the internet
i tried to set the start up to normal start up no luck
Any help,

Throw both symantic and norton in the trash.

Try this:

internet options > security tab and all the icons shown highlight them and set them back to default levels. Then try to get online!

go into MSCONFIG and choose the selective start up and then disable anything that has to do with Symanatec and Norton on the startup tab

then try

OMG don't judge me!
