I have twice tried to download Microsoft's Spyware removal tool. I download it via Windows Update. It downloads fine & says it is installing but the program is nowhere to be found. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?

When you download it it runs and if it doesn't find a problem it deletes itself. Will return with the page if you want to install it on the machine.

Can't find it offhand. You can search for it but it would be futile as it has already run on your machine.

The tool offered through Windows Update is the 'malicious software removal tool'. It's more for viruses and trojans (and only a few at that).
