I see many old posts for this problem, but nothing to really solve it. My sound/game card work in my other machine and my joystick works fine. yes, I tried everything but the solution.. Connected, disconnected. uninstalled drivers, installed drivers, etc etc.. no matter whenever i try installing a driver, it comes up in the device mgnr but shows "not connected". (tried everything MS listed, with no help) I have two other sound/game cards and swapping them around, doesn't help this Emachine.. please anyone.. I need help.. thanks franbarb

Interestingly (IMO) that on my Win98SE machine I had been using the MS Sidewinder Joystick and MS Gamepad when XP first came out. I ran XP Advisor and it told me that both were not compatible with WinXP.
I never went any further.

I guess, I just can't figure out why my game port do not connect. I have tried everything listed (more than once). nothing shows that i can connect.. I have tried 3 different card + drivers to no avail. my midi will work from the game port. I have 3 different joysticks. The only thing i can figure out, it might be my winxp home on this computer, my other computer has win xp pro.. any comments?? i sure would like to get connected.. thanks for any reply franbarb
