ms paint never has worked

i have a problem with ms paint, it will not work on my computer that i bought new last year. all normal software came preinstalled. when i try to open paint, it says "paint has encountered a problem and needs to close" and then that error report thing. it says this before paint even loads. i really hate this bec even though i mostly use photoshop i love paint to do a lot of things since its so much easier. thanks
