MS Outlook overtype

I have switched to Microsoft outlook but notice when I make a spelling error and I go back to correct it overtypes rather then letting me delete the letters. Is tehre anyway to turn this off? I checked the toolbar but could find no option for this.

Is your Insert key pressed? You could allow the spell check to do it's job and have it run before sending the email.
