insufficient disk space to recover lost data chkdsk error in my external hdd.
hdd is opened but it seems to lost clusters so i see my folders with another names

  1. Chkdsk doesn’t really ‘recover’ lost data. It just puts the file parts it doesn’t know what to do with into separate files. If chkdsk finds a lot of lost clusters you might want to let some recovery software have a look at it before you have chkdsk convert them into files.

    And yeah, as much as is possible delete files you don’t need to free up space.
