I need help badly. My laptop is acting up on me, it won't start. I want to reformat my hard dirve but don't know how because it doesn't recognize my MS Dos commands. The operating systems on my laptop is Windows XP. I want to get rid of Window XP and reinstall 98. Thank you in advance!

You need to make a MSDOS boot disk that contains fdisk or from which you can format the hard drive. If the file system you used for Windows XP is FAT32, then you might be able to format the drive from the Windows 98 installation CD. If not from that CD, then you can at least do it from the Windows XP install CD and then just quit installation after you've formatted the drive.
