My computer is stuck in ms dos mode and i dont know how to turn off ms dos. computer type is a compaq presario 6333om windows xp home edition. HELP!

As there is no DOS in Windows XP you probably are stuck on the BIOS screen that pops up while the POST phase is running before the bootstrap process starts. This happens when a hardware malfunction occurs and has nothing to do with software or operating systems.
