Dear Friends,
I just got a computer with Office XP Small Bus. Edition. The co. I bought from told me that Office XP SBE comes with MS Access...It doesn't.
I do have MS Access 2000 premium on disk as part of MS Office 2000 premium that i used on my old computer. Can I just install MS Access 2000 onto my new computer with Office XP SBE and use it? Will it work in conjunction with Office XP or is Access 2000 not compatible with Office XP since it is part of Office 2000.
Thanks in advance for your help. I would really like to have my Access Database back.
Sincerely.

No, is the answer. You can install the whole of Office 2000 SBE and not put on Xp version this will be ok. But you must use one version or the other unless you own a office 2000 and an office xp full version licence. So if you had both licences (or didn't care about licensing - Will of course I don't condone) you can load on Office 2000 (or part of it) then install Office xp and choose custom installation and then choose to keep existing version of office/access. Question answered or just more confused???

More confused!!
If I have Office XP home edition, which doesn't come with Access, can I just add Access with my Office 2000 disk, custom installing just Access 2000, since there is no Access XP to conflict with it?

Since the above entry, I spoke with a microsoft tech person today, who advised me that I can add Access 2000 by:
1-First uninstalling Office XP SBE.
2-Installing Access 2000 by itself.
3-Reinstalling Office XP SBE (making sure Access is de-selected if there is an option to include it....there wasn't).
I followed his suggestion and so far, so good. Access seems to open fine, and I am very : )

I just want to know what are the additional features in Windows XP when Compared with Windows 2000 mainly for MS Access.
I just want to know is it worth to upgrade my existing Win 2000 with Win XP?
Pls, say your comments and suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
