Everytime I reboot and want to log into windows it pauses about 1 minute (I figure it's waiting for a service to start). When I check in the Event Viewer, there is this error: "The mrtRate service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified. " I've done some search on this and it appears that many people had problems with mrtRate because of Quicken 2000. However I have Quicken 2004, have tried uninstalling/reinstalling it too, but can't figure out how to fix this problem. Anyone has any suggestions?

Fascinating!!! The previous post is about mrtRate too!! YEs it is QUICKEN, and you may well be missing the MRTRATE.DLL file. Is this to do with QUICKEN's autoupdate feature, or BACKGROUND DOWNLOADING as they call it. I am not familiar with QUICKEN so you may have to research this yourself. Either way, find out how to turn off the BACKGROUND DOWNLOADING feature, it is only for silently checking for QUICKEN updates. As I had posted in the previous post it is NOT to do with Mortgage rate calculations....LOL...:o) Safe Computing...;o)
