what video formats (eg mpeg, avi, wma...) can ahead nero 5 burn to vcd format?
Regrading the vcd format... Is the burned vcd a standard type that can be played on all all vcd players or there are different files types of vcd format

make a new vcd in nero and just drag a movie file onto the video bit nero should convert it for you unless its a wierd format like quicktime or something

Nero Will allow you to make VCD or SVCD (some others as well)

I recomend svcd because its better quality

Almost every good DVD player Will support S/VCD and some bad dvd players will as well :D

I also recomend reading up on the Url DOC posted

DAT is not a format, just an extention. The dat files in a VCD are actually mpeg files. mpeg 1 for vcd, mpeg 2 for svcd.
