I installed Thunderbird and can't get my mail. When I click on get mail a message comes back saying: Sending of username did not succeed. mail server pop.netzero.net responded: bad argument list. What do I do now?

I think there is problem with latest builds.

For a long time I used Mozilla and now suddenly, I can't get my mail anymore.

I gave up and went back to using Eudora.

Strange. I have no problems with Thunderbird. In fact I like it very much. Check all your setting for pop and smtp.

I used Thunderbird 0.6 with 3 different pop accounts. It was all right. Today I upgrade to Thunderbird 1.0 and one of the 3 accounts does't work. The message from that mail server is: "failed to lock or parse or multiple access"
With version 0.9 of Thunderbird, problems arise on the same pop account but the error message is different: "invalid user/password"
With version 7.3 all work.
So I think is a problem on new version with global account and local folders.
Maybe some different query to the pop server and not every pop server accept that query.
We have to wait for new releases ...
