I am getting pages poping up in mozilla sometimes. I ran AVG, SpyBot, and Ad-Aware. Mozilla is also configured to stop popups. Can anyone help?

Although Mozilla is configured to block pop-ups, the ones you are getting could be created by a program instead of another website. Mozilla does not block these.

Your computer is likely to be infected with adware. To remove it, download Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Run the program and let it scan for instances of malicious software on your computer. Then, you will be given the choice to remove them.

I hope this helps,

James

I am sorry. I didn't read your post correctly :-#

I recommend you save all work and close any programs. Then view your list of Processes (in the Task Manager) and "End Task" them all. Some of them you will not be able to end, so leave them. Once this is done, click File and select "New Task". Then, type in "explorer" (without quotation marks). Test out whether Mozilla comes up with any advertising. If it appears every now and again, leave your computer for a while and come back later. If an advertising window didn't pop up, it means that something is set to run every time you log in or start your computer.

You must delete them from the registry to prevent them from appearing again. Go to http://www.wheresjames.com/StartupMgr_home.htm and download the program. Now you can identify the bad egg and delete it.

This could be the messenger service that is in windows(not msn messenger or windows messenger) it is for network administrators to give messages to PC's on their network. Type services.msc in the start>run then a box comes up and scroll to messenger and right click and push properties and then stop and disable it.
