Pardon my asking perhaps a very elementary question, but my lack of computer expertise is extremely high. And I tried the threads but could not find an answer to my specific issues.
On a computing show I saw a solid recommendation for FireFox 1.0 PR.
The host indicated that FireFox is his favorite browser and it has now hit 1.0 Preview Release status. My questions; I would like to try FireFox but keep my IE6 browser, in case FireFox doesn't suit me. After I install FireFox can I keep IE6 and use either when I want?
I ask because I have to do things like internet banking, and my bank sites show I need to use IE6 to do my bank transactions.
On the threads I searched some had problems importing their favourites from IE into FireFox, and some said running FireFox caused some of their icons to change to FireFox but some remained as IE icons.
In summary I would like to check out the features of FireFox, but only if I can do so without running into conflict problems with IE still on my computer. Any warnings or precautions on what I need to do, or not do, before I install FireFox, would be greatly appreciated.
I may add I am a retired senior and wish not to try anything if doing so will cause me stress in the long run. Thanks.

I often run Firefox and Internet Explorer simultaneously without any conflicts whatsover. Firefox will import all of your IE favorites under their bookmarks feature.

Answer: This is true and happens ONLY if you elect to make Firefox your default browser. In my case, I kept IE as my default browser and have no icons changed accordingly.
