I got a new box and wanted to use my HDD with XP from the other PC but once got it installed XP does not run anymore. I get the boot window with the safe mode options and normal mode and neither one gets xp to boot. I moved back the HDD to old box and boots up fine. Do you know any solution to modify in registry for XP to accept the new hardware>?

Boot from the XP CD and do a repair.[Not the one from repair console], the one in the install menu.

Thanks, I done it but it takes me to the command prompt C:\windows and there is no commands to repair from there. Is there any other way to tweak it to accept the new hardware and settings?

Are you running from the install window [Repair the existing windows installation] or from repair console? You need to go past the repair console to the "install windows, Repair this installation".

Yes and I get the blue screen. The issue sis to bypass the SIDs due that it records the mac address, serial of systemboard etc and now all of them are different. My understanding is that it compares all the config at boot time and finds that mac address and others do not mach the footprint for that registration.
