For starters, I it's included in SP2, so install that, and you should be OK... if it's not available on MS Website, SP2 is likely gonna be the only way to get it.

I think thats pretty s---ty you cant download MM2 or .NET framework 1.1 without having to install SP2. I dont plan on installing SP2 for quite a while after the bugs are fixed.

After a disaster with SP2, I reinstalled Windows only to discover that I couldn't upgrade Movie Maker to version 2. A google search eventually led me to a site that had Movie Maker 2 available for download. The big problem is that now I have a Dutch (I think?) version of Movie Maker 2 and I don't know the language. To really rub salt into the wound, it can't be uninstalled as it doesn't show in add/remove programs.

The moral of the story is:

Microsoft will force us to install SP2, like it or not.
