Solved move addresses in contacts of Outlook 2003 to outlook expres

May 22, 2012 at 22:09:28
Specs: Windows XP
outlook express 6 address book came up damaged, when I opened it today. Some names came up double and quartruple, but the matching addresses had disappeared.

Need to transfer outlook 2003 "CONTACTS " to OE 6 addressbook. How do I do that ? Can someone just give me click by click info? And does one first delete all the damaged addresses in OE 6 ?
Connot find info online on this precise subject .
Any help would be sincerely appreciated !

Go here:

And, yes, you should delete ALL addresses in Outlook Express first, not just the damaged ones, because otherwise you may end up with duplicates after importing from Outlook.

You will, of course, be able to delete any duplicates but if you start off with an empty address book in Outlook Express you won't have to do that.

Thank you Mr. Phil22 -- you are right , seems logical, I should have thought of that... that's PC logic.... but I am a PC grandma... still in training...who grew up in a household with a piano and a Lute, and one Radio with tubes that looked like funny lightbulbs - in the eat-in kitchen, where everyone listenend to the news at noon, in Germany, and that PC logic was not taught or needed.....I do thank you for your help !

When I have more time this weekend I'll try again to find the click > click procedure
that I need to transfer the addressbook.... why on earth didn't someone in MS think of
just putting a menu-bar into Contacts, and other addressbooks with the word SEND or SAVE-AS in the file-tab ?
