mouse moves on its own to top right of screen

June 10, 2009 at 05:01:39
Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 1.694 GHz / 767 MB
My mouse moves to the top right corner of the
screen and wants to stay there... I can snatch
it back onto the screen for a microsecond, but
it still goes back..!
I can hold it's position using the thing on the
keyboard but it is tiresome... I normally use an
optical mouse. It has done this on and off for a
couple of years!
I run Spybot, AVG and Eusing all to no avail.
When I have got rid of the problem I never
know why - there seems to be no connection
with anything!
Help... Please!

If this is a wireless mouse, the battery that is low is known to cause such behaviours. Replace batteries.

It affects the usb mouse plus the two onboard... None rely on
batteries!

What two on board are you referring to?

Anyone reading this... I think I have cracked it! Hardware fault - I
have disabled the onboard mousepad and all seems well. (So
far...)
