i recently upgraded from windows 98 to XP professional. Ever since i did that, my computer always freezes up and the mouse is locked, i do remember that when i did the upgrade, 2 files i believe couldn't be installed and it did say that windows XP may not function right, i guess they were right, i'm not sure if this is causing the mouse to freeze but can you help? How can i know which files didn't get installed, i didn't get a chance to write them down? Any help is appreciated!

Hi Jay,
There is no real way of finding out what files were not installed, unless you can remember! What I suggest is, you boot your computer using your XP Cd and then select the option 'Repair this installation' (or words to that effect). This should hopfully fix your problem.
