Mouse does not work after keyboard is pressed

September 24, 2009 at 07:44:27
Specs: Windows XP
Firstly, I cant skip the disk check. Even if I went through with it, as long as I press any button on the keyboard, the mouse would not move and the keyboard does not either. Any help? So basically I can't type anything... It's really inconvenient. Thanks for the help.

Ok, here are the questions:
1- is it a laptop or a desktop?
2- is it a wireless keyboard and mouse or usb, PS2?
That info will help us to help you.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

what you describe is a lockup

This is related to hardware problems. Overheating is the first thing to check.

Put your hand behind the powersupply when running. Do you feel air moving from the fan? If not replace the power supply

Open the case. Blow out or vaccuum the dust bunnies. Make sure when on the fans are moving.
Check fan speed in the bios - just because they turn doesn't mean they are turning fast enough to move the correct amount of air.

Report back as to what you find.
