I have problem with detecting my mouse by Windows XP. Somtimes after restart Windows XP 'sees' my mouse and sometimes not... It is problem only in Windows XP (Me or 98 - doesn't have this problem... there I can manually intall this device (why in XP couldn't I install mouse by Add/Remove Hardware in Control Panel?)... and this isn't problem of mouse drivers .. it isn't depended on kind of driver (if Windows uses bulit in standart PS/2 or Serial driver.. or own A4tech last driver it is the same way)... has anybody had that kind of problem? Any explainations ? Please Help..
PS.Maybe somehow may I manually install mouse and disable self-detecting it by Windows ?

I ran into this last night.. Somehow I unplugged my ps/2 mouse (Logitech Mouseman, using MS standard ps/2 mouse driver at first).. So I plugged it back in and restarted and it didn't see it. So I plugged it into the other PS/2 port and then the USB keyboard stopped working! So I restarted, put the keyboard into the keyboard ps/2 port and it still didn't work.. After several combinations including PS/2 to Serial mouse adapter (with both serial ports active in the bios) I eventually had a dead keyboard and dead mouse.. But the keyboard worked fine during bootup! I ended up doing a complete reinstall of XP 2600.. It was only on there for 12 hours or something, so I didn't have many things installed already..
I know this isn't an answer, but your problem is not uncommon.. I don't know why there's no way anywhere to add a mouse or keyboard device.. rediculous..
