Mouse and keyboard work but then stop working

September 11, 2009 at 04:33:51
Specs: Windows XP

I was on my computer this morning, and I was deleting songs off of my iPod's library of music. (Sometimes whenever I delete songs off my ipod's library, it says "Disk cannot be found" or something, don't know if that's part of the problem or not.)

And as I was deleting songs, the screen turns black, and it goes to the Dell load screen, and a beeping occurs. Like, a rapid beeping. But when I press the space button, the beeping stops, and continues to the next screen.
At the next screen, it says that I can press f1 and start normally, or press f2 and go to setup.

When I press f1, it loads and goes to my welcome screen. I can move my mouse, and click on my user account. But when I go to type my password, and press the keys, my mouse AND keyboard stop working.

I don't know if this is the work of iTunes, or something else.
Please help, I'm in a lot of need.

Not good with computers here. >.<
Where and how do I do that?

It's a Dell Desktop computer, if that helps with your prognosis any further.

1. Open the computer...
2. Look at the picture here and llok in the computer for a part like that...see it`s location and direction...then open the plastic clips on the both sides (but be careful not to break them...lift up the ram, and put it back gently...close the clips...
3. About the cmos battery...look at here and do same that he does...then re-insert it...
4.close the computer...
5. plug in the power cord

before performing this operation, unplug the power cord

I'm not too sure on how to do all of that stuff, honestly.

It says "Keyboard failure." I dunno if that has to do with taking out the stuff and putting it back in.
