Most programs Not Responding

This problem started when my computer completly froze. I then hit the restart button on my computer. Now, when my desktop comes up, everything is fine. However, when I attempt to open most of my programs(all of my games, System Restore, My Computer, IE, AIM) it says Not Responding. I am desperate for a solution, any help would be greatly appreciated.

your friend is your system manufacturer. Please provide a little more information. System information can be found by going to Start>settings>control panel>system>general or talking to your friend who built it for you ( if he/she did )
