It all started when my windows xp was installed. When i go into a game or when i install something, or even go to a web site, i get a blue screen that says:
***Hardware failure
contact vendor
**system haltedI installed spybot and ran that, i have done almost everything i could think of. I went into my bios and changed 4x to 2x, no difference and changed it back. Then i tried with differnt displays...256,125,64. 64 is the normal setting and nothing changed. So i tried incresing the power to the AGP slot. This is where i ran into trouble. I increased it from 1.5 to 1.6 and there was no differnece or change. So i put it up to 1.7 and now when i turn on my computer, it doesnt reconize the card and wont turn on the monitor.
Is there some way to reset the bios manually?
maybe a link to help me out?Even if i do get it back and running, what can i try to solve the hardware failure problem?
Thanks,
Ryan

Simple troubleshooting first.Try booting with a Windows ME or 9X boot disk.Do you get a dos prompt?Try using an old PCI video card after removing the AGP one. Then you load default values in the computer bios but you need to see something on the monitor. This PCI card could help you.You don't need the correct drivers for this:it should use the default VGA ones. The video card bios should have done the right choices for you. These recent AGP cards are Plug and Play and make intelligent decisions that help you get to work. There is no need to tweak the newer cards. You may have other issues with memory etc.If you don't have the above, see a qualified technician as a last resort.Good luck.

cant i dont even get into bios, wont boot up and monitor doesnt turn on... anything i could do manually?
something on the motherboad that i can switch or reset?
thanks,
ryan
